2025 will be our first annual Chili Cook Off & Bake Off/Craft Fair fundraiser. Contestants will have the chance to win $100 and a trophy in either the People’s Choice or Judge’s choice categories with a chili and/or baked good recipe of their making! We will also be holding a fundraising competition to see which contestant can raise the most money for a $25 gift card!

Doors will open to the public at 11am. The tasting fee is $5 for two wooden voting tokens: one displaying a chili pepper and the other a cupcake. Spectators will also receive utensils to taste chili and baked goods with. Contestants will have ballot boxes for spectators to place their voting tokens in. Things to know/q&a

What is the entry fee to enter the competition?

The flat rate for entry is $25. When we receive your entry, we will contact you with a fundraising link. We ask contestants to try and fundraise $100. If the goal is reached, the initial $25 entry fee will be refunded. If the goal is surpassed, contestants will be entered into competition for highest fundraised.

What can you win and what are the prizes for winning?

We are running 4 different competitions. People’s Choice Chili, People’s Choice Baked Goods, Judge’s Choice Chili, and Judge’s Choice Baked Goods. Every competition has a prize of $100 and a trophy. There is an opportunity for runner up. Runner ups will receive medals. Judge’s Choice will be voted on by a panel with specific criteria.

Each category has three criteria that a panel of judges will be assessing them with.

Chili will be assessed based on taste, smell, and look.

Baked goods will be assessed based on taste, presentation, and creativity.

What is the judging criteria for each category?

Who Can enter the competition and can I enter Both?

Contestants may enter as individuals or teams. We encourage restaurants/bakeries and businesses to enter. We also encourage friendly competition between families, coworkers, or branches of companies. Have fun with it! Contestants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Contestants may participate in both the Chili Cook-Off AND the Bake-Off. However, as this requires two separate display tables, the registration fee will be doubled accordingly.

What other general rules are there?

Chilis and baked goods must be made from scratch at home and brought on site the day of the competition ready to eat. A list of ingredients used to make the chili and/or baked goods must be displayed. Quantities do not need to be displayed. Contestants are responsible for supplying all of their own equipment and products. We will supply spoons, forks, cups, and plates for spectators to eat from on the day of the event. Each cook/team may enter only one batch of chili/baked goods unless stated otherwise.

What happens to all the leftover chili and baked goods?

Contestants have the option to leave any left over chili/baked goods with us at the end of the day if they wish. All leftovers will be given to Dough2Door, a food donation ministry we work with during our other events.
